Maddie's State Gymnastics Meet

Jack and I got home from Florida and I left with Maddie and Grandma Jeanne the next day to head to Poplar Bluff for her state meet.  We drove down, checked into our hotel, she hung out with some of her teammates for a little bit and then it was time to get ready.

We headed to the meet, she was al nerves!!!  But she had a great meet.  She started on floor and got a 9.075 (her best score of the season), went to vault and got a 8.325, on to bars with a  9.2, and finished on the beam (her least favorite) and got a 8.850 (her highest of the season as well).  Her scores landed her at: 2nd place on beam, 3rd place on floor, 4th on bars, and 3rd All-Around.  She was happy with her results.  The only people she lost to in all events were teammates, so that's helpful too.  ;-)

After the meet we went to eat Mexican food with the team and went back to hotel and went to bed.  The pool was already closed by the time we got back, so the girls were disappointed.  The next day we woke up and headed home......we had a baseball tournament to get to.

Great end to the season and she is looking forward to the next one!!!

The bun hair when it has to finally come down......

It's Not Only Jack......

We ALL know Jack cannot eat ice-cream without wearing and we ALL give him trouble about it......turns out, on this given day.....Peyton couldn't either!!!  Jack couldn't let this one be ignored!!!!  HA!

Untraditional Spring Break

Well, it was a weird spring break this year.  We couldn't go on a "family" trip, as Maddie had to stay in town for gym.  Her state meet (the big one) was the second weekend of spring break and they aren't allowed to compete if they are not at practice the week of.  SOOOOOO, Maddie and Grandma Jeanne stayed home, and Grandma made sure Maddie got to all of her practices.  Mike stayed home and worked, Peyton went on spring break with the Williams and Jack and I headed to Florida to see Grandma and Grandpa Farm.

It was a total "boy" trip.  We went deep see fishing.  That started off a little rough, as Jack was sick the first hour or so, but he was able to finally rebound and catch some fish.....thanks GOODNESS!!!  He was SO looking forward to fishing....I was going to be super sad for him if he couldn't pull it together and enjoy it.....but he did!!  The next day we went to a Cardinal spring training game and had nice, hot weather for that!  The next day Jack and Grandpa hit the lake to do some lake fishing and Grandma and I hit the beach.  Our last day there, we did an airboat ride and got to see lots of gators, Jack thought that was cool too.....and so did I.  Grandpa finished our night by frying up all the fish that had been caught (from the ocean and the lake)....Jack was in heaven!!!

We also spent time learning and playing pickle ball, which actually ended up being pretty fun......and took Grandma's bike for a few spins as well.

Fun trip!!!.....and by the looks of Peyton's pictures, I think she had a fine time as well!

Birthday Weekend.....this is 39!

Maddie and I flew up to Minneapolis for her to compete in the Northern Lights meet.  It was a tough meet for Maddie.  She didn't score quite where she normally does besides on bars.  She received a 9.450 on bars, which even then, barely scored her high enough to medal......crazy!!!  But even with the stiff judging and competition, her team did take home first.  In our down time, we swam and walked to target to check out the fidgets......the beginning of the fidget obsession......

When we were walking through the airport, Maddie noticed many moose throughout the airport.  Maybe Minnesota is the moose state???  Not sure, but because we call her Moose, she wanted to keep stopping and posing.....a picture with each of them is way better than buying them!!  HA!

We then flew home Saturday morning quick, to make it over to IL in time to watch Jack's first baseball tournament.  We finished the evening off with watching Peyton play her final CYC basketball game.

It's a busy life, but a good life.  And this is 39, folks!

A tried girl with a big, big mess!!  Her new, Target fidget exploded on her on the way home from Jack's baseball game.  That is all she could take, asleep she fell!
