Fishing Derby, 2016

The Eversmeyer's hosted another successful fishing derby.  We brought home no trophies but the kids brought home some great memories instead.  They really love this day every year.  And, I might add....we might, just might be becoming better losers.  Even though we brought home no trophies, we didn't cry about it this year.
The kids fished.....they all caught plenty to keep them interested and occupied.  And they did a fine job keeping Mike occupied too.  He may or may not have snapped at me to help him more.....fishing just isn't my thing.  I'll go and take the movies and pictures....everything else about it, I just don't enjoy.  Never have, and I guess I never will.
They then played some yard games that Toni had prepared, ate dinner, went fishing some more, and finished by the camp fire.  At the campfire we made amores and Logan plays the guitar and Wyatt sang us some tunes.  The song they played and sang a couple times (Closer, by the Chainsmokers) is now Maddie's favorite song.  She calls it her jam.  Her face LIGHTS up and she is pumped every time is comes on the radio.  I finally had to download it so she could listen to it many times a day.
The kids then somehow talked Grandma Farm into letting them stay the night at her house.  So we took them to the farm, gave them a bath, and passed them to Grandma.  We made Maddie a pallet on her floor and the big kids slept in the room off the kitchen that they always sleep in.
They had a great day, I'm 100% sure!

These days......

are limited.  This is not a sight that happens much anymore.  Too busy and too big.....but this day it must have been needed.......an afternoon nap!

Labor Day

Labor Day fun at the pool.  Lots of pool games that the kids played in, soda dive for the kids (always a hit), beer dive for the adults....Mike participated and pulled enough out for the both of us, the water was entirely too cold for me to jump in after free beer.  Then towards the end of the day they let all the little kids (under 10) go off of the high dive.  They have to be 10 to jump off of it, so the last day the pool is open they give everyone a chance.  Maddie had the entire place chanting for her and off she went.  She loved it and went again and again.....it was a fun day, complete with face paint!

What friends are for

This right here is a picture of what friends are for.....I looked down at Jack and his friend the other day at tennis practice and Jack was helping his friend that hasn't quite master the shoe tie yet.....neither of them even thought twice about it.
We all have our strengths and weaknesses, and that's why we need friends to help us through life!

Can't even think of something clever for this....

I simply cannot even find a title for this.  Liz and I went to pick John and Maddie up from tot spot at the gym the other day and I peeked thru the window first just to see what they were doing.  I about died.....John and Maddie were the only two kids in there and they had quite the mess going on.......I had to snap a picture, and then we got busy helping the poor tot spot lady clean up their mess!  It was actually pretty funny!  I have NO idea what they were doing!!!

School Time

Peyton is headed to 4th grade, Jack is headed to 3rd grade and Maddie is starting pre-school at St. Peter this year.....one stop drop for me this year....it's going to be a beautiful thing.  Maddie is excited to go where the big kids go and to wear a uniform.  I asked her if she wants me to drop her off or the big kids.  In true Maddie, 3rd child fashion, she didn't think she needed me.

The big kids started a week before Maddie and then it was Maddie's turn.  Everyone seems to be enjoying the start!
