Maddie's First Volleyball Game

While I was in KC with Peyton, Mike was coaching baseball, so Grandma Jeanne made sure Maddie got her first volleyball game.  She took some video and sent it to me.  It was actually better volleyball than I would've expected out of third graders.  Maddie got all five of her serves over every time.....woo whoo!!

A baseball mom did take and send me a picture of Jack from the weekend as well....

Peyton heads to KC.....a couple league games

Peyton's soccer league this year is a regional league, which requires a little more traveling just for league games.  We headed to KC for the weekend to play a couple games.  The girls had fun and played some good soccer while there.

Oh Gussy!

Gus seems to get more pictures, as he is the one that is around the most!!!  He ALWAYS wants to be right beside someone.  Like wants to be so close he's always "touching" someone!  He a sweet, funny guy!  Annie is usually around also, just not quite as close.  She wants to always be in the same room, she wants to be able to "see" you, but she definitely does not need to touch.

Peyton First High School Tennis Match

Peyton's first match!!!  I didn't know what to expect out of a high school tennis match.  She played court one for JV and they won all their matches.  She played well, I'm totally impressed with how much better she has gotten in the last month, once she decided to play! To no surprise the coach had her lined up on the backhand side.  Her backhand is her strong stroke! After the match, the freshman parents and girls went to dinner to meet each other.

Championship Sunday

This was a LONG one!!!  They got it done, but it took them a long 11.5 hours at the ballpark on Sunday!

PHEW!!!

Dad and Peyton Tutoring Sessions Begin.....

Peyton and Mike don't always work the best together, but I've been warning her for years that the day is coming that I will no longer be able to help her and she and her dad will HAVE to learn to do this together!  First week of high school.....the day is here!

They were learning about the characteristics of life and she had to draw a "thing" out of a hat.  The "thing" she drew, she had to say if it were dead or alive based on the characteristics of life.  She then had to come up with 3 experiments to prove it.  She didn't have to "complete" the experiments, just had to come up with them.  The "thing" she drew.......a free range farm egg.  Ummmm.....ok, then.  Well, I personally think that thing could be dead or alive.  Are we talking fertilized unfertilized.....Dad is up!!!!!

They figured it out, with minimal disagreements.  And she got a good grade!

STP Golf Tournament

Well, I was back to do my duties as beer cart girl for the 5th year, I think.  St. Peter golf tournament, always a great time!  It was a hot, fun day!!
