Peyton gives Maddie a lesson....

Lately Peyton has been trying her best to teach Maddie how to use the iphone.  She gets into the app and then has Maddie use her fingers to choose things.  I think Peyton goes into this girl app where you dress the glamour girl.  She picks out the girl and then lets Maddie tap on the phone to pick out the girl's outfit.  Wont be long before Maddie is teaching me a thing or two about he iphone, I'm sure.  These kids and electronics.....slightly unbelievable.

Don't worry, I DID fix her hair before she left for school

Never too young for the iPhone

"hmmm.....I pick this one"

such a good big sister

Teething ring???

Who needs an ole teething ring when there are rib bones laying around????  Not this girl.....

Maddie turns 6 months old.....

Happy half birthday, Maddie!  I know it's cliche, but seriously......this six months has flown!!!  And what a difference six months makes.  Six months ago, you were so tiny, couldn't hold your head up and slept all the time.  Now you are doing so many "big girl" things.  Some of them include:

  • sleeping from 8pm-7am (occasionally waking up around 6:30)
  • taking just three naps, usually.  I think we MIGHT be in a transition phase.  You use to take 4, 30 min naps.  The last week or so, you've been taking three and usually one of those naps is an hour or longer.  But it's anyone's guess as to which one it's going to be.  We hope you really smooth out this nap thing.  But you are a rockstar at night, so I'll take it.
  • eating some solid foods now.  You've had sweet potatoes, carrots, peas, bananas, applesauce, and rice cereal.  So far, I'd say your favorites are carrots and bananas.
  • dropping toys off your high chair for us to pick up and for you to do it again!
  • VERY social.....you LOVE to be played with.  Peyton and Jack are two of your favorites.  Every morning after you nurse, I put you up on my shoulder to burp, which makes you face the kitchen table.  You LOVE this because Peyton and Jack are behind me eating breakfast.  You love getting thrown over my shoulder to see them!!!  It's so, so cute!  And they are HAPPY to see you too!
  • just in the last week you have learned to SIT UP!!!  You are quite good at it too!  I don't think I've ever known a kid to learn to sit before rolling over.  But that's just what you've done.  No rolling over yet, but sitting up and love to stand up too!
  • We put the swings away, you were getting too big.  I put the play mat away ( I think the posts might have been limiting your rolling), AND the bouncy seat is getting ready to go away too!  Don't worry tho.  You will still have the excersaucer, jump-a-roo, and your activity tables.....all of which you love.
You are so, so loving!  If I would sit with you on my lap all day, you would be completely ok with that.  You would not get bored....you would LOVE IT!  You love to be held.  If you are crabby, I just throw you on my hip and pack you around with me, doing whatever I need to do, and you are completely content.

You have changed so, so much in these six months and it's hard to believe that in another six months you will be walking and starting to talk.  My goodness.....time flies when you are having fun!  Love you, Miss Maddie!!!

Here's some pictures of the big girl sitting up!!!

Peyton's love for herself

Peyton is drawing a picture of our family. She said she was drawing me to be the tallest, since she loves me the best. Then she proceeds to say, "but mostly I love me." Hahahaha!!!
I guess this will be a good quality one day, right??

Another one bites the dust....

We have another man down. Peyton puked all night last night! Today she was drawing and later she brought it to me. Sometimes this girl can drive me nuts, but she really is a sweet girl with a big heart. Her drawing is posted below.
Another way she displayed her big heart recently was when jack was sick. She came out of her room that morning after getting ready for school and she was crying. I asked her why she was crying and her response was, "because Jack is sick." They sure do have a love-hate relationship. As I'm sure most siblings do!

Bath Time

These pictures are a VERY rare occasion.  In fact, it NEVER happens!  However, last night I took a bath, and I took a HOT bath.  Like, so hot that my skin was red and I was sweating.  End result.....there was no more hot water left for the three kids to take baths.  So they all had to get in together or they would all be taking cold baths.
They thought it was fun(ny) at first and then it didn't last long.  Everyone was arguing and invading each others space, so the party was over fairly quickly.
I did manage to get a few pictures first tho.....

about perfect:

Maddie vs Peas

I started introducing Maddie to foods this week.  She's been eating rice cereal for about a month and she does fine with that.  I started with peas......NOT A FAN AT ALL!!!!  I've also tried sweet potatoes and applesauce, she's not overly enjoying them either.  We will keep on trying.......

bleh.....shivering and shaking

gagging!!!!!

"Mom, are you sure you got rid of them peas and filled that bowl
with rice cereal???"

ahhh!!!  throw them damn peas away!

playing at the table

mmmm......that's better

I'll stick to rice cereal, thank you
