So, that being said......he wanted redemption from last year, as his boy sat and cried because his car was slow!! He also wanted to go out with a bang, as it will be their last year. They took over 2nd place and got a trophy (which is what truly mattered, lets me honest). Jack was a much happier boy this year than last.

Pinewood Derby, 2017
Mike says this will be the last Pinewood Derby Race for the two of them. I think they are throwing in the towel on Boyscouts after this year. It's a pretty disorganized den with lots of knuckleheads in it....Mike certainly does not enjoy to chaotic meetings with this group.

Fun Day, Fridays
Maddie decided at the end of her last soccer session, that she would like to cash in her Friday soccer class for Fun Day Friday instead. So on Fridays, we now have the entire day free. She gets to pick her poison for the day. The first two Fridays included taking a friend to the Magic House. Here she is on the first one with Lydia and second one with Audrey. She is such a social butterfly! LOVES nothing more than hanging with her friends!!

Happy 1/2 Birthday, Peyton
Peyton got to celebrate her half birthday at school a couple weeks ago. Since she is a summer birthday, she gets to celebrate her half birthday. The school celebration includes: a dress down day, mom gets to bring her lunch, and her name gets called over the intercom and they get a small treat from Dr. Freitag.
She always then comes home and asks what we are doing to celebrate her half birthday....ha! Yeah, right! That's a school thing.....we don't celebrate half birthdays at home. :-)
She chose chick-fil-a and Maddie and Jack got to benefit too!!

Maddie and Nora
Maddie and her little friend, Nora have a mutual love-hate relationship. At this given moment, they were loving.....
Jack's basketball and tennis
Jack has been playing lots of basketball and tennis this winter. He's been playing on his CYC basketball team and another team, the Dragons.
He has also been playing in as many tennis tournaments as possible. It's hard to find the time to fit the tournaments in, but we've been trying. In the last two tournaments, the championship has came down to Jack and our friend Nick. They are VERY comparable players, but Jack has somehow come out on top in both tournaments.
He struggles with his intensity/temper on a tennis court. We've been trying to really work on that and see if we can get him to reel in his emotions....it's so hard for him. He wants to and understands when we tell him he HAS to, but then in the thick of it, he just can't help himself. He is a fierce competitor! As Mike says, "I can't stand that he's like that, but I wouldn't be able to stand it if he didn't care that much either." I'm hoping we find a happy, medium soon! He absolutely LOVES playing tennis!!

Gymnastics SHOW DAY
Maddie has her gymnastics show day a few weeks ago. She made sure to dial up Grandma Farm and Grandma Jeanne to make sure they would be in attendance. She had it all lined out. She called them, asked them to come pick her up from school, go to lunch, and then go to gymnastics.
So they showed up that day and we went and picked Maddie up from school, went to McAllister's for lunch, and then headed to the gym to watch Maddie show us her tricks.
She loved it!!!
