Girls night at the ballpark

Mike got a coupe tickets from work, randomly, for the Cards game and it turned out that Peyton didn't have anything that night.  Peyton and I quickly got dressed and hit the road.  We had fun, but we certainly did not bring home a win.  I think the Friedman kids have only witnessed one Cardinal win.  They should maybe be banned from the Card's games.

Volleyball still going strong....

Jack is still loving volleyball....and the team is pretty fun to watch.  I think Peyton might be getting the itch to try it again too.  When she played a few years ago, it didn't quite "look" like volleyball yet and she got bored.  But now that she's seeing the action, I think she thinks it looks pretty fun.

Kindergarten soccer takes off...

The best!!!  Little kid soccer!!!  Maddie had her first game and we made the big kids go along to cheer her on.
It was sooooo HOT!!!  Upper 90's, those poor little girls were not impressed.....besides Maddie.  They  kept asking Maddie, "you want a sub?"  "NOPE," she kept telling them.  She was so red-faced, but she loved it.  She walked away with 12 goals for the start of her season....HA!

Green Tree Parade

The big kids had a load of the games the morning of the Green Tree Parade.  Maddie got on the horn and sweet talked Grandma Jeanne into taking her instead.
They said it was HOT, but she was wearing a smile and bearing a bag of candy.....

Morning smooches...

The first stop in the morning from all the kids is my bed.  WHY???  Because that's where you will find lazy, Gus.  They all flop on his and he just lays there.

Jack and Maddie try new things...

Volleyball for boys starts in 3rd grade and Jack had asked to play.  We just had NO time for it.  SOOO.....this year, when he decided to be finished with Kirkwood United soccer, it allowed more time on his schedule.  I asked him if he still wanted to give volleyball a shot, and he was a little hesitant.  He was afraid everyone would be much better than him since they had played the previous two years.  Well, turns out, 4 new kids all were going to start this year.  Once he found that out, he was game!
The team is pretty darn good too.  I was totally unsure of what we would see when we went to the first game.  But, it certainly looked like volleyball and the kids are all pretty good, Jack included.    Undefeated and we are 2/3 of the way through the season.  Jack is loving it!  He's a pretty solid server!!

Maddie spends 70% of her life on her hands, so we decided it was time to do something with that.  She's constantly flipping and flopping around, so I thought if we got her some proper technique, maybe she'd be less apt to hurt herself???  So she has started taking acro.  She was super timid at first and scared to be the "new kid" too, but she has fallen right in there and the teacher has asked her to move up classes already....she's a strong girl!!!
