These dogs......

are getting MAJOR attention during this quarantine!!!

My Favorite Memes From the Week....

An Easter to Remember!!!

WOW!!!  Easter was a lot different around here this year!!!  Maddie was able to dye Easter eggs for the first time EVER!!!.....(third kid problems).  Usually we are playing baseball all weekend, so there's usually not time for silly egg-dying stuff.  HA!!

Sunday morning, Maddie made us some monkey bread for breakfast, and I made eggs and biscuits.  We sat at the dining room with fancy dishes and fancy glasses for our OJ (and mimosas for mom and dad).

The rain finally cleared off about mid-day, so the Easter bunny delivered eggs to our front and back yard.  Grandma Jeanne and Mark came to spectate the egg hunt from their car.  Jack and Maddie ran around for about 20-30 minutes looking for eggs and then Grandma and Mark went home and then we came inside.

Around 3:30, Mike and I got in the car and ran to Westborough for carry-out dinner.  When we got there, they ran the food out to our car and put it in the trunk.  They even had the Easter Bunny there to wave to everyone.  I wish I would've know, I would've brought Maddie.

We came home and ate our ham, turkey, deviled eggs, mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, bread, chocolate cake, and apple pie!!!!  Holy smokes.......we might have had to be rolled to bed that night!!!  We might have be skimped on extended family, but we did not skimp on food!!!  Jack said, "I love ALL of this food!!"

It was a strange Easter with no extended family, and never getting out of our PJ's, but it wasn't all terrible!!!

How's that for a fancy Easter family picture??  HA!  Grandma Jeanne took this from her car.

Gus was making sure that there wasn't one speck of any food left in that thing....that was some good turkey and ham!!

Jack and Dad's honey-do list....

Mike (and Jack) keep chipping away at that honey-do list.  Over the weekend, they got our new doorbell installed, and some new exterior lights!!  YAY!!!

Maddie's Gymnastics Assignments

Maddie's gymnastics coaches have done a good job staying in touch with the little gymnasts.  They send them workouts, they chat with them online, and they send little fun things for them to do also.  Last week they had two "fun" assignments.
The first one was to put a shirt on the ground, get into a bridge and see how fast you can put the shirt on, while staying in the bridge.  It was very entertaining and made my body hurt just watching her!!

The next assignment was to draw a picture, anything gymnastics related and post it to their Facebook page.  Her his Maddie's!  She's definitely missing gymnastics and all her teammates and coaches!

Jack's Virtual Birthday Parties

Jack had two birthday "parties" for two different friends last week.  His buddy, Kyle from his baseball team turned 12.  He did a virtual basketball competition.  Every attendee had to shoot, 10 layups from the right and left side, 10 free throws, 10 jump shots from both elbows, and 10 three pointers.  They then put their scores in a google spreadsheet to see who won.  Jack did not win, but he had fun!

Jack had another baseball friend, Sam, turn 12 last week as well.  We did a drive-by parade for him.  Peyton held the sign, I rang the cowbell, and Jack threw out candy and sunflower seeds.  I was too busy driving and ringing the cowbell to get a picture of that one!!  But it was fun and Sam had a big smile on his face!!

After the drive-by party, Peyton asked, "can we please just drive through Kirkwood?  Maybe drive past school?"  So we did.....she misses school, well, she misses her friends.  When we drove past StP, she said, "I'd give my PHONE up for a month if we could just go back to school!!!!"

Social Distancing Couples Date

Well, we went to have a "night out" with the Rineys last Friday.  We chose their house because they have outdoor heaters, which is important, since we cannot congregate indoors.  We brought our own wine, cups, and hand sanitizer.  We had a lovely visit with Chewie, Jason, and Gina.

Some good old fashion backyard fun.....

When I pulled in the driveway from my "tailgate party," all the kids were in the backyard playing soccer.  Mike was working from home, so I assumed they had gotten to loud and rambunctious, so he kicked them out.  When I asked them if dad kicked them outside, they said, "No, we just came out."  These little things here are the benefits of quarantine.  The kids need each other more and want to be with each other more.
They were outside playing a game of soccer, having a good time!!!  Things like this do NOT happen when we are in full swing of non-quarantine life!!
