Confirmation Retreat

Confirmation Retreat day......and they are off......

Take Moms Phone.....All photos will be used against you.....

Even at 14, she still steals my phone and leaves me selfies...

Some advantages of subbing

I've been subbing all of this year at the kids' school, as they are low on subs due to COVID.  It's actually been kind of fun to see what a day looks like in their school lives.  When I  was subbing for PE one day, I found this little gem hanging on the wall......I had never seen it before.

The boy sure did love chess.....I'm sure he still does, but due to COVID they had no chess club after school this year and no chess tournaments.  I guess we will see if he picks it back up next year, when it hopefully continues.

Easter

Well, we spent Easter in Arizona.....so when we returned on Monday, the Easter Bunny had paid us a visit.  He left small surprises on the table and even hid some eggs in the yard.  Jack humored Maddie and sprinted around the yard with her, finding all the eggs!!

Spring Break 2021

Well, we didn't get to go on spring break the week of spring break, so we decided to take a "spring break" trip over Easter.  The kids missed a day and a half of school and that was it.  We headed of to Arizona with the Rineys.  The original house we had rented for airbnb hosed us, and dumped us a week before we were suppose to go.  SOOOOO......we scrambled and did the best we could, which was two units in a condo type place.

The kids thought it worked out quite nicely, as we ended up making one of the condos a kid unit and one an adult unit.  We called theirs the frat house, as that's exactly what it looked like!!!  Messy, trash everywhere, Xbox strung out all over the living room, sink full of dishes......but they enjoyed their independence.

We went on a few hikes and had lots of time at the pool.....the cold pool!  Adults went out for sushi one night, and that pretty much sums it up.

Masked and ready.......lets do this!

Good morning from the frat house.  We were out on our balcony still having coffee, and these two rolled out from their house, just waking up at about 11:00.

Our first hike.  They might be smiling for the picture, but they aren't happy!!!  Our little three mile hike turned into over 6 miles....we had one small wrong turn.  HA!!!  Oh, and we had ran out of water by 2 miles and it was 90 something degrees.  OOPS!!!!
