Donuts with MOM

Well this is a good one!!!
Mike leaves at 5am every morning for work.  On this particular April day, it was donuts with MOM at school.  Like usual, Mike left at 5am for work, and I get the kids up and get everyone to school for donuts with MOM.  About 7:45 we see Mike stroll through the school cafeteria doors, for what he thought was donuts with DAD......HA!!  We went ahead and let him know that donuts with DAD was actually last month and then sent him back to work.  Solid effort tho, DAD!

A "Ruff" Winter....

Well I drug the dogs with me to Peyton's soccer practice.  They were VERY excited to go.  They drug me there first mile, and I drug them the last two!!!  Winter was tough on them too.....we all have a little work to do from our winter.

Blonde Haired Cutie Patooties!

A Busy Friday Night...

A Friday night in April, all three kids had to be at a different place (actually happens quite often).....Grandma Farm was in town, so we put her to work!!  She took Maddie to her soccer game down at Soccer Park.  Maddie ended up playing on the field right beside Andrew, so Leigh-Anne snapped a picture and sent it to me!!  Soccer Park is NOT an easy place to navigate on a Friday night, so Leigh-Anne wanted me to know that they got there safe and sound!  :)

My kind of sick day....

Maddie woke up on an early day in April with a small fever and upset tummy.  She got dressed for school and debated and debated if she should go or not, she REALLY wanted to, but then she felt bad.  Finally at the last minute, she took off her uniform and decided to stay home.  We had a great day.  We went up to Kirkwood Baptist and she helped me get things ready for the week at school, we grabbed some lunch and had lunch together on the deck, and we planted flowers and Maddie caught herself some frogs in the fish pond.  I think it turned out to be a great "sick day".

A Couch Full of.....

SPOILED DOGS!!!!

A Chilly Night for Golf

We will count our blessings that we got to get out to the course and play a little bit, but it was a cold March night.  Peyton opted to stay home.....wimp!!

Girl Scouts Go Bowling

Maddie's little Daisy troop had some leftover money so they got to vote on what they wanted to do with the extra money.  A bowling party won the popular vote.  And I think I can say, without hesitation, they had a great time!!  A little bowling, lots of silliness, and lots of soda and pizza!!  And a LITTLE bit of time in the arcade, 5 and 6 year old girls don't know how to pace themselves at the arcade.....they are ALL in, and 3 minutes later their money is gone!!

Jack's Favorite Room Mate

Jack LOVES when Gus sleeps with him, however, I have to carry Gus in there for Jack. Gus prefers my bed, my pillow, and ALWAYS beats me there!!!  EVERY SINLE NIGHT I have to roll Gus to the bottom of my bed or carry him to Jack's bed.  Jack would prefer me to carry him to his bed every night.

Maddie starts SLSG

Maddie has started playing soccer at SLSG down at soccer park.  She thinks she is big stuff now.  Her team is pretty good, but most of them are older than her.  Most of them come from Washington, MO too.  Her coach is from Washington and I think he brought a slew of girls with him.  For now, Maddie is having fun running around on the soccer field!
It's fun watching the little Friday night league again.  SLSG until they are 10, I think, competes only in the Friday night league.  They have inner-club scrimmages, no refs, no throw ins, no goalie kicks....they try to teach ball control (not boot and chase) from a very early age!  The parents sit and have a drink and listen to the music on the loud speakers and watch the kids run around and have fun!

Peyton’s Serving Debut

Peyton served her first mass, and boy was she NERVOUS!!!  Nervous about what to wear, nervous about messing up, nervous about which priest they would get....nervous, nervous, nervous!  She was serving with two of her good friends, so that was good!!
They did a fabulous job and they were all relieved when it was over.  We celebrated by going to dinner with the Lorms after.

City-County Chess Tourney

We got back from spring break just in time for Jack to make the City-County tournament.  This tournament they have to quality for, so all the players there are pretty good.  Jack lost a tough one in the second round, but then came back strong.  He went 3-1, which at least allowed him to get fifth place.  He took the loss pretty hard, but he was smiles by the end.

Together again....

Think they missed each other while we were gone??

Spring Break 2019

Well, I won't make too big of a post on this, as I make a book for each vacation, so it's heavily documented there.
This year we went with he Rineys to Cancun and stayed at the the Moon Palace.  We had a great time, and thoroughly enjoyed the warm weather during the horrible winter we had!!

St. Patrick's Day Parade

The last day of school before spring break is always the St. Patrick's Day parade.  The kids go to school, go to church, have the parade, and then go home for spring break!!  Maddie was the only Friedman kid that participated this year.  Peyton claimed none of her friends were there, that they had all already left for spring break.  So when I told her, fine, she could miss, Jack didn't think he should go either.  But Maddie, the kindergartener, was NOT going to miss it!!!  The kindergartners are the rainbow, she was the color red......and oh so excited to be there!!

Checking out the Kirkwood Fire House

The Daisy scouts had a little field trip to the Kirkwood Fire Station that I walked along and chaperoned.  It's actually pretty neat seeing the inside and where they "live" and what they do.  Seems like it would be fun being a fire fighter, minus fighting the fires.....

GARTH BROOKS

Taylor was our DD, as she was growing an infant.  We could NOT find parking.....it was the home and garden show and something else big down town, that I can't remember right now.  But either way, there was no parking left to be found.  We begged every parking lot to please let us in, we had a pregnant lady, how can they say no....but they did!!!
We then bargained with the MAC lot to let us in.....we gave them "our member number (thanks Rineys), and they let us in.  PHEW!!!
We sang every word to ever song and had a dandy time.  I think I've only been to 6 concerts in my lifetime, and two of them have been GARTH!

Happy Birthday to ME

My birthday fell on Ash Wednesday this year......so this is what 37 looks like!!  Started the morning with church, went to work, ran kids around all night, and finished the day with the kids at the dinner table.  Not too shabby!!!!

Maddie's sweet card, until I saw 77, instead of 37.  HA!!!  Still super sweet!!

The end to Jack's CYC season...

Jack got to play with two of STP's CYC teams this season.  Here is the team he really enjoyed playing with, that had some of his good buddies on it.  They finished the season with a tournament victory and a pizza celebration!!

All Saints Tournament Champs

Peyton's CYC team won the All Saints tournament.   It was fun walking in that gym, playing the same tournament I did as a kid, playing for Holy Rosary.  Peyton played against Sarah Dempey's daughter in the championship game which was another interesting twist.  I played all my years of Holy Rosary basketball with Sarah and her dad was the assistant coach.  So to sit in the stands with Jack and Sarah on the other side, watching our daughters play the championship game was fun.

Here is Peyton, guarding Sarah's daughter....

The end of Maddie's KJBL

Maddie's KJBL team finished their last season game while I was gone with Peyton in AZ.  The girls had another undefeated season....Maddie had a great time and loves playing with her friends that are a grade above her.  She has a lot of friends a year older than her in school, so it is super fun that they ask her to play so she can play with them!

Missing Each Other

Thing they missed each other while we were gone to AZ?  We got in super late so the dogs were already asleep....but this was their greeting in the morning!!

SLSG Elite takes on Phoenix

Peyton got asked to move up to the Elite team for the rest of the spring season.  She was super nervous about moving up, because Peyton gets extremely nervous about anything "new".  I couldn't really understand her nervousness, as she knows most of the girls.  She's played with several of them in the past, AND one of them is one of her best friend from school.  But, she went to the first practices in tears and scared, and by the end of the first few practices she was loving it.

Her first games with them were in Phoenix, AZ.  The girls played extremely well, extremely physical and fast!  Our last day there we had all day to do "other" things, as we had no soccer games and our flight wasn't until late that night.  We hiked Pinnacle Peak and went to Hole in the Rock Park.  Both of those adventures we had done on spring break the year before, but it was fun to do them again with soccer friends.

We shared a car with the Lorms', and Mr. Lorms quickly figured out that my sense of direction isn't exactly keen, and that his job as the passenger navigator would become very important.  We did fine, I don't think we ever got "lost"....,maybe had to bust a few U-turns, but that was it.

The temperature was FREEZING in AZ!!!  They had record setting temps when we were there....boo!!  We were looking forward to a little warmth in February, but no dice.  It snowed in AZ two days after we got home.  While we were hiking, it actually started sleeting.

We got home about midnight, and off to school Vita and Peyton went the next day......very tired, I'm sure!
