After Maddie's 6 weeks off for her knee, it was time to compete again. We had a chat about realistic expectations, being that she had been out for that long. She understood and was just happy to be out there competing again, I was happy for her too!! She ended up placing in everything, but floor.....I believe.
And then of course the girls talked one of there moms into having them over for a sleepover!
SLUH had a welcome night for all the newly accepted incoming freshman for next year. They gave them a little swag, had a few guest speakers, had the boys get altogether for al little small group icebreakers, some snacks and done.
Exciting things ahead for this boy....
When you are an 8th grader, Catholic Schools Week is the BEST! The 8th grade volleyball game (another thing Peyton got robbed of her 8th grade year)....and only a few kids get selected to play in it and Jack was lucky enough to get picked. First they play the 6th graders, if they win (which they did), they play the 7th graders and if they win that (which they did) they play the teachers. It was a good game, and DOWN TO THE WIRE!!!! Jack was in the server position at the end of the game and it was a one point game. He did it and they won, and the 8th graders crashed the floor. It was a high energy, happy crowd! It was good to see a lot of people together in one venue, unmasked, for some good fun!
The parents couldn't go this year, but that's ok.....we got to watch from the live stream and the kids were all in hog heaven!!
Peyton is a little jealous, but Jack gets to have a normal cotillion this year. I did not chaperone the first one, but I received many calls and texts that Jack was quite the dancer. And he looked like it when he came out. He came out sweaty and talking a mile a minute. He LOVED it! I guess is pays off to have sisters that make you TikTok with them....he had the moves.
I chaperoned the second one and was able to catch some pictures. The kids were hilarious! The day I chaperoned was actually Super Bowl Sunday, so a lot of the kids were gone. The did let them out in time for the game tho!
The boys in this class were MUCH more outgoing than the girls.....the boys held nothing back and would volunteer for ANYTHING....even girl parts. When the girls wouldn't volunteer for their roles, the boys would. They were funny!
A little Wobble, YMCA, macarrina, the Whip and Nay Nay, and a little Waltz.....so fun!
I can't wait to start going to some wedding receptions with these kids!!
