A game of the past...

A manual game of solitaire...she thought it was fun until she had to manually re-deal the entire thing after she lost.  The weather was nice, the company was good, and we stayed hydrated too!!  :)

First Day of School 2018

Well, we certainly are NOT overachievers in this house when it comes to the first day of school.  Here was a glimpse in the walls of our home, 30 minutes before we had to leave......Peyton looked just like the too, except she heard me and woke up....

Once I woke them up, they HUSTLED snd we made it to school on time, no problem!!

Maddie gets a couple more days at home before KINDERGARTEN starts!!!

Peyton making history....

Peyton had to get a shot at her well-visit this year.  I promised her a Starbucks if she could PLEASE not make a scene and make 4 of us hold her down like we usually have to.  She said she could do it....and well, she did!!!  The nurse and I were both shocked....maybe we are turning over a new leaf!!!  PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE!!!

Farewell to Maddie's birthmark

The dermatologist has been watching a birthmark on Maddie's booty for quite some time.  It's been changing over time so the doctor wanted it to come off.  She felt it wasn't anything too crazy, but still urged us to get it taken off and some tests ran on it.
They gave us the option to have her put asleep or to stay awake.  We opted for her to stay awake, she's a pretty tough cookie!!!  Peyton.....well, we would've had to put her to sleep!!!  And, Jack,....I'm not sure....he's somewhere in the middle.
Mike met us there the morning of.  Maddie was super nervous.  They used at LEAST 7 full shots of lidocaine.....taking at least 30 minutes....she was a CHAMP!!!  She is so strong!  She did ok as they were cutting it off, until when they were stitching her, they hit a spot that wasn't numb for her.  Then she was ANGRY and just wanted it over.  She kept screaming, "Is the bandaids on YET?!?!"  Overall she was a CHAMP!!!
She has two layers of stitches and cannot swim or take a bath for a couple weeks.  Her incision is about 5 inches....much larger than I was expecting.

She deserved a trip to target.....and what did she pick out....????.....a SLIME kit of course!!!

The Brueggenjohann's dropped her off some chocolates and flowers on the front porch that night and she thought that was pretty cool too!!!

PGA came to St. Louis

It was hot, and it was long...I wasn’t sure jack would enjoy it, but seems he did! They thought it was pretty awesome!!.....and apparently so did the golfers.  Most of the golfers were raving on the STL fans and Bellerive!!

The Friedman Gun Show

I don't know....you decide...close call!!!

Captiva

We wound down the summer with a trip to Captiva Island.  We had a blast and are ready to go back!! I'm not posting a ton of pictures, as I have a book all for Captiva, but I will leave this one right here.....

Farewell Summer Tennis

It was a fun summer of tennis.....good tennis, good friends....

WCC Sports Banquet

The summer sports banquet and lip sync was quite a hit with the girls.  Jack watched and danced from his seat and that was about it....no lip sync for him.

The kids won some great awards too.  Peyton had a great year at all club for swimming so she got her plaques for that and she also won "most improved swimmer" and they had great things to say about her.  Peyton also won the top tennis clinic "most valuable player."

Maddie won her tennis clinic age "most valuable player" too.

Jack won "all club tennis player of the year."

BRACES!!!

Back from camp, a week before vacation, 2 weeks before school.....lets get those braces on!!!

Braces time for Peyton.  She was scared!!!  She actually called two of her friends that have them already at 8am on our way to her appointment.  Neither of them answered (they were probably still sleeping!), and in she went.  She did great!  It took about 45 minutes and then we were out of there.  They only put them on the top for the first few months, then they will add the bottom.

She then spent the next hour taking pictures of herself and sending them to her friends.....

She did get to big sores in the back of her mouth from the wires.  We went back in the next morning and they clipped the wires and she's been good ever since.  She was so scared about not being able to eat certain candies and popcorn for the next 18 months.  Well, she's already figured out how to do it, even with he braces.  RULE BREAKER!!!

THE BEFORE.....

THE DURING.......

THE AFTER.......

Peyton takes on Kamp Kanakuk

Peyton went to her first week long sleep away camp at Kamp Kanakuk.

When I dropped her off she was on cloud 9!  Everything looked super fun and looked like she was going to have an amazing week!!  She was not sad at all to see me leave.  I didn't get to talk to her all week.  They post pictures at the end of each day, so you can usually catch a quick glimpse of them in the pictures, but that's all you get.  It was much harder on me than I thought it would be.  It was hard not talking to her and hear how it was going.  It wasn't hard on her tho!  When I got there to pick her up at the end of the week, she DID come running with a big smile and gave me a big hug....followed by, "I didn't really miss you.  Sorry, is that bad?!?!".....Nope, it's not.  I love that you had fun and are strong enough to stay away for a week and not get homesick.

We stayed for closing ceremonies and then got on the road for our 4 hour drive home.  We got home around midnight.  Her favorite thing was the "blob"......

Waiting in line for the gates to open....

Entering the gates.....

Peyton, Maira, and Riley getting introduced and getting their barn number....

 Checking out their sleeping quarters.....

These were the sneak peek pictures we saw throughout the week....

Closing Ceremonies.....what a great week!!!

Saying goodbye to new friends and barn #11.....
