Jack's Birthday

A couple weeks late, but there was finally a break in the baseball schedule for Jack to get to celebrate his birthday with his friends.  He had his friends over to stay the night, have some pizza, and chocolate cake!

I did get some push back, but I was able to get ONE picture!!

Weather Is Starting to Get Nicer

Well, the weather was starting to warm up a bit, so the boys grabbed a tee time for after school one day.  Well, the weather ended up not being so nice that day.....we can tell which kid does NOT like to be cold.  He gets that from me!!!

St Peter Field Day

Field day....a little different this year, as we couldn't have all the grades out there at one time.  We had to follow new rules with COVID, but we made it happen, and I think the kids still had a good time.

We had nice weather, which is ALWAYS a plus!!!  And as always, I think the kids enjoyed the water games the most!

Peyton's 8th Grade Trip

Traditionally, the St Peter 8th graders head to Chicago for a special trip with Father Jack.  This year, due to COVID, they had to cancel it.  Instead they took a trip locally.

They started on a bus from school and headed to Old St. Charles to a shrine and did some site seeing.  From there they crossed the ferry and went to Pere Marquette.  Following their time there, they headed over to Grafton to do some zip lining.  When zip lining was over it was time to head back to St. Louis.  They had dinner and stayed the night in North County at a retreat center.

The next morning, they woke up, had breakfast, and headed off to Union Station.  During their day at Union Station, they got to to "all the things."  From there they went to Ted Drews and got some ice cream.  They then hopped on the Amtrak and headed back to Kirkwood.

The kids all came back smiling and happy!  I think they had a great time.....it might not have been Chicago, but they had fun and they were able to spend some time with Father Jack.

The Nats Head to KC

Well.....we knew it would come to an end at some point, but it was a good run!  The 20 game winning streak came to an end in KC.  Didn't come up on the winning side, but we did all have fun!

Friday night on our way in town, the Smith's parents hosted the entire team for a BBQ, super nice....and yummy too!  Once the BBQ was over, we headed to our hotel.  Mike kept getting texts from everyone making fun of the hotel.  Not the best hotel, and not in the best area either.  Then we finally get into our hotel room and we have and early game in the morning, so I start laying all of Jack's uniform pieces out for him and..........I didn't pack his navy button down (his Saturday jersey)....thank God I did the packing!!!  Mike would've really laid into Jack for that, but since it was my mistake, there wasn't much he could do.  HA!  I specifically did all the packing so that Jack wouldn't forget anything, turns out he probably would have done a better job than me.  He borrowed a navy practice jersey from coach Kevin.  OOPS!!

Peyton STP Graduation

And that's a wrap!  Thank you STP for loving, teaching, nurturing, and preparing Peyton for her next home.  St. Joseph's Academy.....here she comes!!

During the graduation ceremony, the teachers honored Peyton with the virtue of loyalty, which I think it pretty spot on for her.

Great mass and great dinner after......what a month of all the "lasts".....!!!

Peyton's Last Day at STP

Well, kind of unbelievable, but Peyton's last day at STP came and went.  She went to school there for 9 years.....9 great years!  The day started with donuts in the park, so that they could all walk to school together for their last day.  Once they all got to school, they had the transfer of leadership mass....always a special mass, but extra special since I had an 8th grader AND 7th grader.  After mass, the school and the kids honored our beloved (and very Irish) Mnsgr. Jack for his upcoming retirement, with bagpipes and all. What a gem he was for our kids, they/we were lucky to be led by one of the best!

All the emotions set in on this day.....happy, sad, proud, thankful.....all the things.  My heart is full!
