Girls Night Out!!! Yippee!!!!
St. Louis has been shut down off and on since the pandemic and it finally reopened again a couple weeks ago. For Christmas, Jason gave Gina a weekend away at the Four Seasons. She invited a group of us to come down and have dinner with her on that Saturday. It was so fun!!! I have missed hanging with friends!!!.....more than I knew! I even curled my hair for the first time since last March!! Ready for this dumb virus to be OVER!!!
The Gun Show
Jack has started lifting with Mike a little bit. So the other night I told him to show me his muscles. Of course, he didn't want to, but Maddie jumped at the opportunity.....anyone surprised?!?! So, finally after Maddie strutted hers, he finally busted his out too! It will be fun to see his progression. He is in full on puberty right now, the boy is literally changing every.single.day! He eats more than a grown man, starting to have a few little mood swings (which is out of character for Jack), voice has changed significantly and is still changing, growing like a weed!!! In fact, he and I went back to back the other night, and we are exactly the same height right now. Which means he will be taller than me in two weeks!
The body of a gymnast, is a body I'd like to have.....unfortunately, it comes with a lot of hard work!! Her face is killing me!! HA!
Flag Football 2021
I hate flag football....there I said it, and everyone in this house knows it!! It is WAY TOO COLD!!! I usually make one game a year, just to document it, otherwise it is a total DAD JOB in this house. So the first game was like 20 degrees outside, no thank you!!! Jack had on like 3 or 4 layers on all parts of his body. I wasn't even sure he'd be able to move. But I guess he could, cause when he got home, he reported that he had 3 touchdowns. It is now a joke in the house, that Jack knows his mom is missing watching him play football cause it's too cold!! HA!!! He's a good sport!
Here is a picture of Mike getting his boots warmed up and ready for the game......see what I mean? This is NOT fun!!!
And then here is the picture Mike sent me, with a caption that went something like, "making memories, watching my son score touchdowns and smile......".......yeah, yeah, yeah........
Just a little stroll
We had a few days that were in the 50's and 60's and the dogs benefitted!!! We had some long walks on those days and spent some time at the park where they get to run off leash too!!

Gym Meet in KC
Maddie had a gym meet last weekend in Kansas City. The entire quarantine, leading up to the meet, we didn't know if her coaches were going to let her compete or not. They are super strict about the week of the meet. If the girls aren't at practice every night the week leading up to the meet, they are not allowed to compete.
Maddie had missed two weeks due to our quarantine. She was able to practice Friday and the meet was Sunday. They told her she was allowed to compete, but to not be upset or disappointed in her scores, since she hadn't been at practice in a while. She agreed, and was just so happy that they were going to let her go!!!
We left Saturday afternoon and rode there with another teammate and Mom (Quinn and Carrie). The girls had the best time with each other. We then got to the hotel, checked in, the girls swam for about an hour, we ordered food, ate dinner in the lobby, and headed up to go to bed. We had to be up by 6:30 the next morning.
Overall, all things considered, she did pretty well in her meet. She got 3rd place all around. Placing in every event but beam. The 1st and 2nd place all arounds, were teammates of Maddie's that are in their second year of level four. Maddie was very very happy where she placed. And honestly, I thinks he would have been thrilled even if she didn't place. She had fun and had a smile on her face the entire weekend!
Scores: Bars 9.1
Beam: 8.35
Floor: 8.7
Vault: 8.4
Overall: 34.550
Timber!!!!!
Well, the construction of the pool cannot start until next fall (UGH.....soooo far away!!!), but we can start doing other things to start preparing for it. A big one: TREE REMOVAL! We had to get rid of three really pretty trees and a few other small ones. It was a sad day, but will be worth it once we have the pool. All of us, besides Peyton, were still in quarantine, so we got to watch from he window the two days they were here cutting down the trees. The backyard looks really different now!!
