Maddie had her first reconciliation and it went off without a hitch. As with her siblings, she was nervous. She decorated her candle that week, and then Saturday morning rolled around and it was time to go. Due to COVID, they did not get to pick which priest they went to, to keep lines small and spread out. She was appointed the traveling priest from St. Gerard. She was a little disappointed, as she would have chosen Father Jack, but she was OK. She got in there, confessed her sins, lit her candle, went back to her pew and completed her penance, and off we went. She and I were headed out to Texas that afternoon for a gymnastics meet. She was all smiles when it was over. Now, how long will she be free from sin???? HA!
