Back in March, right before COVID hit, Peyton was able to have a true shadow day at St. Joe's. She shadowed a current student all day in her classrooms, had lunch, etc....she LOVED IT!!!
And then COVID happened......and all school shadow days and tours came to a halt....
She only wanted to tour one other school, Cor Jesu.....we waited and waited, hoping they would bring back an in person shadow day, but they weren't able to. Instead, we were able to go on a family tour on a Saturday morning. Definitely not the same, but it's all they could offer. I didn't think CJA would stand a chance since Peyton actually got to shadow at SJA. She did LOVE the tour and people there. She was stuck. She loved both schools, and the deadline to turn in applications was only two weeks away.
She wanted to go back to SJA to see it once more. She was able to just do a quick tour and hang with a couple students after school one day. She remembered how much she loved it on her shadow day, and ultimately ended up picking SJA. She turned in her application and now we wait until February to get an acceptance letter. Hopefully a future SJA angel......
I, personally, was indifferent with her choice. I loved both schools as well, and if I could have hand picked two schools for her, those would have been the two I would have chosen for her as well......she is excited and ready for high school!!!
